José Maria Mellado was born in 1966 in Almería, he lives and works in Madrid.
José María Mellado has devoted himself to photography since the 90s, and presents his work in various galleries in Spain, Belgium, Germany or France: he acquires an international fame for his digitally retouched landscapes, which describe sometimes strange worlds, not yet impacted by man, or on the contrary, plastically very affected by human intervention.
His greatest success and recognition in Spain comes from the many books he has written about digital processing, and from the workshops that he hosts around the world.
He was president of the Photographic Society of Real Sociedad for 5 years.
We had the pleasure of organizing 2 solo exhibitions of José Maria in our showrooms in Nice and Cannes, and showing his works at Show Off, a FIAC satellite fair.
In addition, Jose Maria Mellado did a commissioned work in Nice, “Solitude at the Promenade” which paints an abandoned portrait of the Promenade des Anglais, in broad daylight … this work was done at the request of the Pompidou Foundation, Center de Research sur Alzheimer’s.
