Knoll International :
80 years old in Milan !
This year at the Milan Furniture fair, Knoll International celebrated its 80 years old !
The American brand had once again entrusted the design of its stand to the great Rem Koolhaas. They proposed a tribute arrangement to the Whitney Museum de Marcel Breuer, in which we found in particular the Wassily chairs and the Laccio tables, mixed with other great design classics, and the brand new creations of Piero Lissoni.
It is always a great pleasure for the Bel Oeil teams to be in contact with this founding brand in the history of design. Brand with which we have been working for 22 years already, and which inspires our proposals, in Nice, Cannes and Monaco :
- The “less is more” by Mies van der Rohe, great architect and creator in particular of the Barcelona seats, designed in 1929 for the German building of the Universal Exhibition.
- Sculptural armchairs by the artist Harry Bertoïa, who created furniture only for the great Florence Knoll, initiator of all of her brand’s publishing projects.
- The “Tulip” line by Eero Saarinen, architect designer, who invented in the 1950s a table and seat base still in vogue and unmatched until then.
- … And many more creations by Marcel Breuer, Warren Platner, Georges Nakashima, Frank Gehry and today Piero Lissoni, who are regularly present in our project.
We had the honor of having dinner with the Knoll International teams at the top of the Pirelli Tower. Built by Gio Ponti, to celebrate the 80 years of this beautiful and great brand. Highlights in an equally striking place, which motivates the quality of our relationship with this exceptional industrialist.
… To be discovered in our showrooms in Nice, Cannes and Monaco !
